A Personal Note

Hello to my friends and readers, I just wanted to write a small personal note to express my appreciation for each of you! I also wanted to let you know a little more about me here. A writer has nothing to say, if there is no one to share with and consider our thoughts. We are each a mirror to one another. As Rumi once beautifully said:

“We are the mirror, as well as the face in it.
We are tasting the taste of eternity this minute.
We are pain and what cures pain.
We are the sweet cold water and the jar that pours.
Soul of the world, no life, nor world remain,
no beautiful women and men longing.
Only this ancient love circling the holy black stone of nothing.
Where the lover is the loved, the horizon and everything within it.”

I am the Mother of three beautiful children, who I love a great deal! I have also been blessed with two adorable grandsons. I really enjoy rediscovering the world through their impressionable eyes. I honestly think the wonder of discovery as seen through the innocent eyes of a child, can enlighten us all. As Jesus once said, “Truly I tell you, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.…” Matthew 18:3-4

I greatly value and appreciate the wonder children add to our lives. I am very concerned about the world they will inherit from us as well. What kind of place are we creating with the choices we are making today? What kind of life will this bring to our children and grandchildren? We need to consider well the long-term consequences of our actions in many ways, or their world will be filled with suffering and pain.

As a young woman I went through a great deal of abuse, as did my children in the relationships I was in at the time. Seeing the pain and suffering this brought to my children; caused me to begin a life long journey seeking better answers to lifes hard questions. I began seeking ways to create a happier life for myself and my children. It took many years filled with set backs and hard lessons to learn. I do not have all the answers. I am still learning, still seeking, still growing. My blog here is a reflection of some of things I have learned. If I can somehow help another to avoid some of the painful mistakes I made, this journey is well worth the pain.

I am a follower spiritually of the One who humbled himself for all time to become one of us. I see many wonderful sources of inspiration who are also followers of this same Divine voice, referred to by Jesus when he said in John 10:16 “I have other sheep  that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.” Thinking of this, I hear the Divine voice echo here in verse 6 of the Tao Te Ching, as translated by Jonathan Star.

“…Whatever we see or don’t see
Whatever exists or doesn’t exist
Is nothing but the creation of this Supreme Power
Tao is limitless, unborn, eternal –
It can only be reached through the Hidden Creator
She is the very face of the Absolute
The gate to the source of all things eternal
Listen to Her voice
Hear it echo through creation
Without fail, She reveals her presence
Without fail, She brings us to our own perfection.”

and again in verse 16 of the Tao Te Ching where Lao Tzu says:

“…Be still
Stillness reveals the secret of eternity
Eternity embraces the all-possible
The all-possible leads to a vision of oneness
A vision of oneness brings about universal love
Universal love supports the great truth of Nature
The great truth of Nature is Tao
Whoever knows this truth lives forever
The body may perish, deeds may be forgotten
But he who has Tao has all eternity.”

My humble prayer is that together we may seek Divine guidance, for ancient wisdom to help us create a better and more loving and peaceful world, for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.

Hating and blaming each other for our pain will never heal the wounds we bear. Only love, compassion, understanding and forgiveness can bring true change.

I simply invite you to consider with me thoughts and ideas on how we might reach deeper inner peace and healing within ourselves; so that we can reach out to others in their suffering and help to ease their pain.

“Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd.” Rumi

We each have the opportunity in this life to help heal the suffering we see within us and all around us, or to add to it. I hope more people will choose to help us all begin to heal. May Divine love, kindness, compassion and forgiveness be our guides.

Namaste.
